Children’s Specialised Sessions
The topics below have always been covered in the normal lessons and will continue to be, the reason for these sessions is to specialise in that topic for the whole session so we can go into more depth and detail.

Children’s Sparring night
Repeated every 4 weeks
The session will involve a really quick warm up and stretch (about 10 minutes), then the rest of the session will be sparring. It will be mixed between Stand up and Ground work sparring. It’s advised to wear a gum shield. Everyone welcome to train in this session (beginners to advanced) but it will be a good work out and you will be pushed. James and Luke will also be participating in this session.

Children’s Reality Training
Repeated every 4 weeks
This session will cover aspects that may occur in a real life situation, from the school play ground to the street corner. We will cover everything from learning how to spot a potential confrontation and avoid it. How to stand, and conversation that will be used, practical strikes and ways to escape without using physical force (if possible). The session will involve different role plays and scenarios that might happen. Weapon defence will also be covered in this session

Children’s Black Belt Training
Repeated every 4 weeks
This session is only for students coming up to taking their Black Belt exam. 1st Kyu and above.
When students pass their last brown belt 1st Kyu the next one is Black belt, all students have to do a mock exam before been put in for their Black Belt (Shodan). Some students (especially the younger ones) may end up doing a few mock exams.
The standard of students passing their Black belt exam is very important to us, if training and attitude is not 100% then they will not be put into the exam. If anyone would like to discuss this further please do hesitate to contact James or Luke

Click on the Events Calendar link in the side-bar above. On the Calendar you will also find all the grading dates, when the gym is closed, also any other events happening at the gym.

The website has been updated with an Articles Page where a news letter will be posted each month - you can find this at the link above. There are also quite a few new features on the site so check it out.
Send me an email if you would like to be kept up to date with all the news.

‘I think the firm, no nonsense approach in class is really good for the kids. At the same time they have fun. The classes have helped Dominic’s confidence outside the class.’
Dominic Barnes (8), training 2 years.
